Civic Center
The El Dorado Civic Center
opened in May of 2000, and has been full of activity ever since. The Civic Center has
already hosted banquets, meetings, receptions and trade shows. This addition to downtown
promises to bring more events to the city. The Civic Center features a staging (kitchen)
area, two break out rooms for meetings with each room accommodating approximately 40
people, and a main room which currently seats 350 banquet style, and approximately 450

El Dorado YMCA
The capital campaign to build an El Dorado YMCA is underway! The campaign seeks
to raise $3 million of the estimated $4.5 million needed to build the facility. Last
November the City of El Dorado pledged $1.5 million toward the project for property
acquisition and construction. The campaign will fund construction of a 35,000 square foot
facility which includes a family pool, gym, walking track, cardiovascular center, strength
center, racquetball courts, locker rooms and other support areas. The facility will be
located in the 300 block of North Main in El Dorado, just east of the current El Dorado
Health Club. Pledges toward the campaign may be structured over a 5-year period and are
tax deductible. Anyone wishing to make a gift or inquire about the project should contact

Business Park
Be the first to break ground in the developing business park located on the
west side of El Dorado, near the Kansas Turnpike exit and Highway 254. The park is platted
for viewing, the layout is complete and construction of streets, water and sewer will

El Dorado Artscape
The Artscape program is in full swing with six
sculptures sold. These are placed on the sculpture bases in downtown
El Dorado, Main and Central area. Only three sculpture bases are
available. Sculptures may be purchased to enhance the community with a
lasting memorial, recognize your business or organization, or honor a
loved one. A bronze plaque with the donor and/or memorial names will
